ABOUT

Ralph Warren Engle is a musician based in Auckland NZ.

With a great range of international guest musicians and co-songwriters that feature on his 'This Flight Tonight' material the work remains fresh and exciting whilst keeping the thread of consistency that RALPHE brings to the songwriting.

During the crowdfunding era, circa (2012 to 2018) overall TFT crowd-funded €14,000+ towards recordings, with most people supporting from The Netherlands, Germany & New Zealand.

RALPHE now continuous as predominantly a solo artist.
Things began however at a solo gig around 2012 when he signed an Artist Development deal with New Zealand music label Stone Winner Records. They started developing demos and a full band named "This Flight Tonight" was recruited to play the new songs.
The debut EP Friendly Fire was produced in New Zealand by Miscreant Studios and producer team The Soundroom, then mastered by Kenny MacDonald who has worked with artists from Sting, INXS to Texas.

"This Flight Tonight" conjures up images of the emotional departures and arrivals at airports. It's those moments of change and new beginnings. It's that spur of the moment decision to take this flight tonight, to escape and set for adventure.

In 2014, RALPHE signed a global distribution deal to Starlight Records & Distribution and that year the new EP Daylight was launched. Guest international & UK musicians were involved in the new recordings, (including Lorenzo Sillitto known from "The Temper Trap".) Mastering was by grammy award winning engineer Erick Labson (Universal LA).

2016, RALPHE completed the duration of record & band contracts and decided to return solo, unsigned and completely independent, but still retaining the project name This Flight Tonight for some album projects.
